One hundred charitable Oklahomans will be honored at this year’s Reach for the Stars gala benefiting Youth Services for Oklahoma County (YSOC), the agency announced today.

The gala, which is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, April 29 at the Chevy Bricktown Event Center, will honor the first 100 founding members of the agency’s Guardian program.

The Guardian program was founded by prominent Oklahoma City attorney Dean Stringer. Stringer, a long-time YSOC supporter, wanted a way to guarantee funding for the agency, which serves more than 3,500 teens and families each year. Guardians commit financially to YSOC, vowing to give at least $1,000 per year for a three-year period. The program has been a success, guaranteeing an additional $300,000 in funding for the agency in tough fiscal times.

“Dean’s vision and dedication to Youth Services is unmatched,” said Kami Kuykendall, President and CEO for YSOC. “Dean and the Guardians are creating a lasting legacy for teens in Oklahoma County. Because of them, we will be able to help more families meet tangible needs. Things like food, shelter, clothing and counseling can alter the course of someone’s life. Our donors and especially our Guardians enable us to continue that work. The need in Oklahoma County is growing. Because of this visionary work, our programs will be able to grow to meet that need.”

This year marks the gala’s 14th year. The Vegas-themed event will feature live music from local band “Loose Change.” A gourmet dinner and auction will round out the evening’s program.

Sponsorships start at $1500 and tickets are $150 each. More information about sponsorships and tickets are available at www.ysoc.org.
