Choctaw author Janice W. Callaway’s rendition of a classic folk tale released nationally on June 28.

The book, titled “Three Little Pigs Gone Halloween,” is an ironed, crisped and updated version of the original “Three Little Pigs” story.

The brand new piece of juvenile fiction includes novel characters, a breathtaking princess with extraordinary magical powers and a parade of surprises including unexpected building materials for the pigs’ houses.

Callaway’s grandson is a fan of the tale, which was written to be engaging for the entire family. He described it as a delightful story within a story.

The children’s book author’s expertise in youth entertainment stems not only from over 40 years of experience as a mother and grandmother but also a 36-year long stint with public education.

Callaway has taught a great range of students including those with disabilities. She has served as an elementary school principal and a director of special education.

“The Little Pigs Gone Halloween,” is Callaway’s first commercial children’s book. It was published by Oklahoma based Tate Publishing and Enterprises. The 28-page book isnow available.
