One of the most rewarding moments in life is when you can look back on your hard work and see how it turned out even better than you expected.
For Pam Orendorff, owner of Hip & Swanky, this is especially true!
The quaint little boutique that so many women shop at regularly for that touch of style and uniqueness is not so little anymore! After moving just three doors down in Kickingbird Square at Danforth & Bryant in Edmond, the store tripled in size!
Hip & Swanky had simply outgrown its location years ago, but Pam did not want to move out of the area. So when Allton’s Clothing for Men relocated out of the shopping center, Pam’s dreams of a larger location materialized. She is finally able to offer the better shopping experience she has always wanted.
They have already expanded their clothing selection as well as added more options in footwear and many gift items for girlfriends, babies and pets. Pam hopes to start having Girls’ Night Out events or private shopping experiences soon.
One of the best additions is going from two fitting rooms to six! With the personalized attention customers receive from Pam, manager Teri West, and the rest of the staff, the extra rooms are necessary!
“Almost every week someone comes in looking for just the right outfit to wear on vacation or to a special event. We help find something that suits their style, budget and will make them stand out,” says Pam proudly.
In fact, Pam will say that the most rewarding thing over the years has been the relationships they have developed with their customers.
The idea of Hip & Swanky started small in 2001 when Pam started showcasing jewelry at craft shows on the weekends. Those small shows turned into larger events like Affair of the Heart and Mistletoe Market. One holiday season, Pam decided to open a kiosk at Penn Square Mall. She ended up staying for an extra year and adding a second kiosk. Her success inspired her to open Hip & Swanky in 2009.
Now walking into her new location and looking at the excellent selection of trendy fashions, Hip & Swanky has arrived on the next step of its evolution. Congratulations to Pam and Teri for all of your hard work!
