Grab your rod and reel and head on over to the Little River Park on July 20 for the City of Moore’s Fishing Derby.

Partnering with the OK Wildlife Department, The City and Moore has worked diligently to organize this unique, family-friendly event—from novice fishermen and fisherwomen to experts, and everyone in between!  There’s truly something for everyone. Check in starts at 7:30 a.m. and the derby begins at 8:00 a.m. The entire event lasts until 10:30 a.m. and promises to be filled with a long list of special events.

The OK Wildlife Department will be on sight teaching attendees about wildlife ethics, fish cleaning, knot tying and safety. It is a BYOPAB (bring your own pole and bait) event, and there’s a limit of four fish per family—sorry to those eager for a whole school. The event is for children ages five to 15, though young children must be accompanied by an adult.

For those parents who are dying to know, ponds will be stocked with catchable-sized fish. We won’t tell if you don’t! For more information email cvillani@cityofmoore.com.
