This phrase can be heard out of the mouths of Southerners during the fall months, usually September through November, depending on the weather, of course.
It’s a happy phrase, filled with the anticipation of cooler weather, snuggly blankets, hot chocolate and...carnivals!
Crossings Community Church is hosting a free community outreach—Fall Carnival at Crossings. This fun, family-friendly event for young and old alike will have something for everybody. Kids are encouraged to wear their “happy costumes,” according to the church’s website. So, come one, come all to celebrate fall on Oct. 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.! Crossings Community Church is located at 14600 North Portland Avenue.
So, what to expect? Well, from the looks of some of the needed donations—bags of candy, marshmallows, tubes of white icing, cupcakes, pies and brownies, glowsticks, necklaces and bracelets, oh and pumpkins (nothing says fall like a bright orange pumpkin)—it appears to be a sweet sugary evening of laughter and fun times! Various activities such as carnival rides and games with candy treats, inflatables, face painting, dunk tanks and a train, not to mention the amazing family photo ops, will be among food trucks, should guests like to purchase dinner.
“The biggest game is our Mega Cakewalk located inside the venue,” said Lori Bunyar, pastor of special events. “We will be giving away over 400 homemade baked goods!”
