It is always important to underscore significant awards won by locals.  Especially, when those awards are as prestigious as Oklahoma City University’s Jim Wade Award.  Recently, OCU honored junior Caroline Goodin for the 2015-16 Jim Wade Award, an award presented to a male and female candidate recognized as student-athlete of the year.

According to OCU’s website, “The Jim Wade Award winners are selected by the athletic department as those who best represent the Stars both on and off the field of competition and reflect the spirit of the award’s namesake, Gen. Jim Wade.”

Goodin graduated from Deer Creek High School and went on to play golf for the Stars, assisting the team in its No. 5 national ranking this season.  As an accounting major, Goodin maintains a 3.93 GPA. Considered the catalyst in many of the Stars’ golf successes, Goodin nabbed two SAC Golfer of the Week honors and averaged a score of 77.9 in 14 total rounds of play in the fall of 2015.
