Taste of Midwest City mixes food and philanthropy
Nothing brings people together quite like food. Individuals plan major events around a dinner table, they craft church meetings in accordance with potlucks and they go all out for birthday parties, because Aunt Ellyn’s birthday cake is simply the best. This month, Midwest City takes this love of food to a new level with Taste of Midwest City. The event—brought to the community by the 2016 Leadership Midwest City Group—takes place on Monday, April 25 from 6-8 p.m. at The Reed Center (5800 Will Rogers Road) and will feature delicious food, yummy drinks and great music.
“The event raises money for the community and whatever organizations we feel need help,” Richard Likes, President of the Leadership Group, said. “Every penny is donated, and through working with the city, we’ve been able to see more, learn more and help more throughout the city.”
Advance tickets for Taste of Midwest City are $20, and for those who simply show up, the fee will be $25 at the door. Active Duty Military receive an additional $5 off. For more information, visit www.facebook/tasteofmidwestcity.
