When the final school bell rings and the kids come stampeding toward the car excited for a summer full of fun, the last thing they want to hear is there are no summer plans. At Linked, we encourage you to think ahead! Think now about all that Edmond has to offer for the summer. We’ve provided a list of a few camps in the area—camps that will keep both the kids and mom and dad happy.

Fine Arts Institute of Edmond:

Spanning from June 14 to July 15, the institute offers a chance for your children to create fun. The camps include Little Artists Camp for 3-6 year olds, and Create Escape Camp, Theater Escape Camp and Art Escape Camp for 1st-5th grade.  Costs vary. For more information, go to edmondfinearts.com or call 405.340.3381.

Keystone Adventure School and Farm:

Children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to embrace the outdoors and team play. Starting May 31, local kiddos can spend their summer on the farm, whether that’s just a week or the entire summer! Keystone Adventure days last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prices are $295 per week or $65 per day with a non-refundable, one-time $50 enrollment fee. See keystoneadventureschoolandfarm.com for the nitty-gritty details and more information.

Little Chefs Summer Camp:

Showing children that cooking can be creative and fun, the Little Chefs Summer Camp is a great option for gourmands in the making. They also learn how their newfound skills can help them give back to their community through service. All children will be equipped with the knowledge of how to cook a full meal by the end of the camp. For kids ages 9-11, this camp is $80, encompassing all groceries and kitchen supplies the kids will need for a two-class session.

Mad Science Summer Camp:

Children ages four to 11 can enjoy these fun-filled, educational camps! Located at the MAC in Mitch Park, these half-day camps let children explore everything from insects to building LEGOS and chemistry to aerodynamics. If children want the full-day experience, they are allowed to sign up for a morning session and an afternoon session. Time, cost and themes vary. Visit okcmadscience.org for more information.

Camp Yoga Bliss:

This summer camp lets your children channel their inner yogis. With three sessions uniquely designed for each age group (4-7, 8-12, and teenage), the camp teaches children and young adults to become aware of their bodies and the spaces they inhabit. Each session includes a themed craft session, a meal, a health discussion in the Bliss Kitchen and of course, yoga. Participants will see all aspects of yoga: postures, breath awareness and relaxation techniques. The cost is $350, and participants must be registered. Drop-ins are asked to call at least 24 hours prior to reserve their mat space. Visit yogablissok.com for more information!
